Sims, Roaf out of action
Chiefs are preparing for Raiders without either injured starter
By ADAM TEICHER
The Kansas City Star
The Chiefs are preparing to play Sunday night’s game at Oakland without left offensive tackle Willie Roaf and defensive tackle Ryan Sims.
Both players left early in Sunday’s season-opening 27-7 win over the Jets with injuries, Roaf with what the Chiefs called a strained hamstring and Sims with a sprained foot.
The Chiefs may also be missing cornerback Patrick Surtain and fullback Tony Richardson. Surtain received a concussion against the Jets while Richardson injured his knee and ankle.
Coach thingy Vermeil suggested both players would be listed as questionable when the Chiefs issue their league-mandated injury report on Wednesday.
The Chiefs replaced Roaf with right tackle Jordan Black. Chris Bober came off the bench to play right tackle.
Kevin Sampson began the preseason as the right tackle but lost the job to Black when he injured a toe. Sampson could be ready to play against the Raiders, but Vermeil wouldn’t say whether he would start if he’s healthy.
If neither Sampson nor Roaf plays Sunday, the Chiefs would have three reserve offensive linemen: rookie tackles Will Svitek and Jeremy Parquet, and center Johnathan Ingram. None has played in a regular-season NFL game.
“Hopefully, they won’t become veterans any time soon,” Vermeil said.
Sims could be out for several weeks. The Chiefs dispersed his snaps to John Browning and Jimmy Wilkerson.

I thought the way T-Rich's knee moved when they showed it on TV was very upsetting, The trainer moved the lower part of his leg around while the upper leg stayed motionless it looked looser than a goose!

Willie Roaf has shown marked improvement and now has a chance to start against the faiders.

If it wasnt for one quarter of one game of his 3 or 4 year career where he actually palyed with fire, nobody would give a darn anyway. He may be the same old Simms anyway. I could care less if he is in there or not.
