Report: Chiefs agree to four year deal with Edwards ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports the Kansas City Chiefs have reached a verbal agreement with Herman Edwards to take over as coach of the team.
According to Mortensen, Edwards will earn $12 million over four years.
The Chiefs and Jets agreed to compensation Friday, leaving Edwards free to negotiate with Kansas City to replace longtime mentor thingy Vermeil. The Jets, in turn, received a fourth-round pick from Kansas City.
