It's been a tall order trying to fix the Kansas City secondary over the past two years, but the Chiefs made a big move Saturday by reaching a one-year, $1.75 million deal with former Denver Bronco Lenny Walls.

At 6-foot-4, Walls is the tallest cornerback in the NFL. He had been with the Broncos for almost four seasons before he asked for his release late last season, trying to get ready for the 2006 season. Walls, hoping to play the Broncos twice a year, visited two of the Broncos' AFC West rivals -- the Raiders and the Chiefs -- before taking an offer from the Chiefs to challenge for playing time.

One of the biggest pluses to joining the Chiefs is the chance to be reunited with new Chiefs secondary coach David Gibbs, whom he worked with in Denver. Gibbs was fired by Herman Edwards during the offseason.

The 192-pound Walls was a success story coming out of college as an undrafted free agent. He was a full-time starter in 2003 but had injuries that bothered him in 2004 and 2005.
