right after denver game, they made a decision that continuing to play on the injured hip would cause long term career issues.
right after the injury the MRI showed no scare tissues etc.

femur head was the location of debris
3 months later(march) had surgery in miami
injury was misdiagnosed, but they weren't exactly looking for some of the stuff that ended up being there and causing problems.
phillipone(hip specialist) in miami did surgery
hip surgery was more of a scope than a traditional surgery
looked at Bo Jackson's injury frame by frame .... his hip actually popped out and cut blood supply. Priest's injury didn't pop out.
they knew miami surgery was successful almost immediately.
staying on crutches for so long after surgery was almost completely precautionary.
2/3 in kansas city after surgery... then went to texas
kept distance after surgery because .... wanted team to be able to go without him.
Vermeil talked to priest before draft about possibly taking larry johnson.
(didn't sound like he had a problem with taking L.J. )
since surgery(2 months) he has been working out pretty hard ... he believes he needed to put stress on the hip to prepare it.

10 days from training camp... hasn't timed 40 ... but then doesn't usually do that.
he is going to training camp ... is going to have to talk to vermeil about how much he is going to workout.
wants to show fans he is ready to go at training camp.

will hold peterson to his statement when peterson said he wasn't happy with holmes and his current contract.
playing the 1st game without a new contract is "undecided"

chiefs told priest that if they could see him carry the ball and fall down and then get back up... he would get a new contract.
doesn't think he has to necessarily prove anything in preseason but chiefs have feel comfortable with his health.
